Running of the MuskOx

Since 2013, the Running of the Moskus has brought together the community in Kangerlussuaq each summer to support local education. The event includes a half-marathon and a 5K walk/run, followed by a festive community barbecue. It’s organized by the research support contractor for the U.S. National Science Foundation in collaboration with the 109th Air National Guard, with backing from both local and global sponsors.

More than 100 participants join the race in person, while others take part virtually from across the globe. All funds raised go directly to benefit Kangerlussuaq’s school, Qinnguata Atuarfia.
