Fishing boats pulled up out of the frozen harbour in Napasoq near Maniitsoq - West Greenland

Napasoq

Napasoq is Destination Arctic Circle’s smallest settlement with just 72 inhabitants. Whaling and fishing traditions run through this community that continues to be deeply connected to the sea and its resources.

Located on a small island about 1 hour sailing south of Maniitsoq, Napasoq receives very few tourists. It is, however, a paradise for whales, seals and fish that can often be found right in the harbour. It is also home to one of the most beautiful church interiors in Greenland.
